Prof. Ralf Schelenz in „Auf den Punkt gebracht“
We have all been aware for a long time that we need the energy transition and have to save energy. The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine has made many people aware of the urgency from a different perspective. It is not only a matter of making Germany climate-neutral, albeit primarily, but also of becoming less dependent on energy imports. With the amendment of the Climate Protection Act in 2021, the German government tightened the climate protection targets and stipulated greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045. Emissions are to be reduced by 65 percent by 2030 and by 88 percent by 2040 compared to 1990 levels. RWTH scientists are contributing to a successful energy transition by developing environmental technologies and sustainable solutions.
On 4 April, Prof. Dr. Schelenz spoke as an expert on the RWTH podcast „Auf den Punkt gebracht" on the topic of wind energy and presented the Center for Wind Power Drives. Topics of the podcast were wind energy, geothermal energy, hydrogen, and sustainable mobility. You can listen to Prof. Schelenz's contribution on Spotify or on Youtube now.
We thank him for the exciting exchange and look forward to further contact.
